My son and I went to the range today and shot some PMC Bronze 357 'Hunting' ammo for the first time. These are 158 grain at 1471 fps and they proved to be very accurate. We used a 6" 686 and a 4" 28. Never seen this ammo before but sure liked it. You can definitely feel it when you pull the trigger. This should be a great deer load

I have always had good luck with PMC ammo, going back to the 1980's. Their "Bronze .308" was the most accurate factory ball ammo in several of my battle rifles. I picked up a case of PMC .45 acp ball about 5 years ago, cheap. Worked fine out of my 1911's, and was accurate.

I've fired several hundred rounds PMC Bronze 9mm and .38 spl no problems. Will be shooting PMC .38spl 132 gr in my 686 3 inch tomorrow back from S&W repair

good to know. I have a 7.62x39 AR upper that I want to use for deer or hogs.

Sounds like good ammunition, but I'll bet that velocity of 1471 fps is from a long test barrel. From typical four and six-inch revolvers a good 158 grain load will run from 1200 to 1300. The one test I could find quickly (Gun Sam Revolver Aficionado), showed an average of 1085 fps from a four-inch Smith.

PMC Bronze is top notch stuff. I'm an avid Seecamp fan, and shoot my .32s quite a lot. The Seecamp pistol is designed to shoot very specific ammo, and PMC Bronze is one of them.

Always had good luck with PMC ball ammo in 9mm and 45 ACP. Good brass for reloading too.

Darkenfast, you are right, of course, about the test barrel, but this is by far the hottest factory 357 ammo I have yet found and we were really impressed with its accuracy.

My daughter's 67-1 puts PMC Bronze 132gr into a single ragged hole at 7 yards- repeatedly. I wish my eyes were still as good as hers...

The few boxes of PMC ammo I've used over the years has all been good ammo. I've not used the Bronze version but what I have used was good quality, consistent, clean and would expect that from the Bronze as well.
At just shy of 1,500 fps out of your 6" bbl.I believe you do have a good Deer load. Just curious if that was your actual average chronograph reading or just data listed on the box.

Their .223 is great in my experience, but their 10mm leaves a lot to be desired. It's the only round I have found so far that wont reliably cycle my m&p10mm

Have used various imported ammo over the years with generally good results on the range. Referring to PMC, S&B, Aguila, Norinco (that dates me...), Prvi Partizan (sp?), Tula, etc.
So, fine with it on the range.
But, for their expanding bullets, be it JHP, JSP or the various rifle rounds you never seem to see or hear anything about their actual projectiles and R&D of them, if there is even any.
I handload all my hunting ammo, so not a huge concern to me - but I'd be hesitant to use imported expanding bullet offerings for SD or really serious hunting. It seems to be an unknown quotient concerning the actual bullet.
We're spoiled here in the US with our domestic manufacturers putting A LOT of R&D into ammo made for SD or hunting applications.

My LGS started me on PMC ammo back in 2011. I want to echo the above comments. Their "Bronze" line is outstanding ammo, reasonably priced (well, it was back in the day) and very consistently accurate at the range. I have cleaned out the bull's eye at 50' many times at the range using PMC "Bronze"! Never used it for hunting.
I use it across all of my calibers - 9 mm, .308, .357 Magnum, .38 Special, .44 Magnum and .45 ACP. Never a problem firing, with a bad primer, "squib", etc.
I must be losing it, but I thought that this ammo was made in South Korea primarily for military and law enforcement use manufactured to some reasonably high production standards. However, my research this morning disclosed that the business operations are in Houston, TX.
Regardless, it's great ammo!
