Looking for you advise, based on your experience with the various Pocket Holster for carrying a new M&P 340.

Would be worn in a variety of trousers, from Blue Jeans to Khakis and some Cargo Pocket style pants .... and Bermudas, both regular style and Cargo Pocket style.
Will only wear it occasionally; definitely NOT an everyday carry.

One thing that confuses me from looking at some of the Holster Makers web sites is, they show pictures of a Boned Holster like you would wear on the outside, but, they don't show any pictures of a flat side that would face outward, toward the fabric of your pant leg.
Seems to ne like, without a flat side the revolver will "print" more readily ... is that correct?
Isn't the Boned Side suppose to face your leg?

Also wonder about which one to select ... the "Round Bottom" style, or, the Flat Bottom" style

Thanks .... obviously I am a complete Newbie at this "pocket carry" business, but not at most other aspects of carry and shooting.

You may find that one, or even two, holsters won't meet all your needs. I use a round cut Mika for slightly tighter fitting pants and I'm not doing anything where I might be prone. The Mika can let the gun slide right out of the pocket while on my back with certain pants. In fact, it may even do so while seated. If that's the issue, I'll use a Kramer pocket holster. I feel that the Mika hides the gun a little better, but wouldn't be without either one. The Kramer is flat on the non-body side, square cut and looks very wallet-like. The Mika also works well on the inside breast pocket of my leather jacket.

Good pocket holster for a J frame

Look up this on the forum. Lots of choices there. The thread was started on 11-19 in the same CC Methods and Iss.

I use and recommend the Mika round cut. It goes in anything. The flat cut is meant to keep it positioned in pants with big or loose pockets, but won't fit in tighter pockets such as on blue jeans. I've used the round cut in big/loose pockets and it's not a problem. If you're going to just get one, get the round cut. If getting more than one get one of each. Mika makes a quality holster at a very reasonable price and it lasts a long time.

Mika Roundcut or you may want to try a DeSantis Nemsis. (Not Superfly).

I use the Mika all the time.

Mika's Pocket Holsters - Custom Made Pocket Holsters, Waistband Holsters, Vest Holsters, Tactical Pocket Mirrors And Much More.

The holster is worth the wait, but Robert says his backlog will get some help real soon. Get the DeSantis and wait for the Mika.

The Mika or any similar simple design makes sense...why would you want a boned pocket holster...boning is designed to hold the gun in more securely..with a pocket holster...you just want something to hold it in the right position..it should not cause any drag on the draw...

I've had good luck with the Desantis Nemisis and Superfly. After handling a friend's Mika, I imagine it will be my next, and perhaps final, option.

Galco Pocket Protector works for me. It was the only pocket holster the gun shop had when I bought my first 640 and I've never seen a reason to change it.
Heard lots of good thing about the Mika and Desantis Nemesis, and may try one when my Galco wears out.

I was carrying my Taurus 605 in my Mika at work once. I was working underneath something and lying flat on my back. The gun slid right out of my pocket and right onto the floor. No one noticed and I ditched the gun until I was done doing what I was doing. Like an IWB holster, the gun, holster, and clothing must work well together. I've never had a problem when using my 360 PD and a Kramer pocket holster.

For $20 the Desantis Nemesis is about as good as it gets, one of the rare times when the cheapest, mass produced product works best.
