I called Sam Andrews this afternoon and purchased a pocket holster for my new 638. A friend recommended him to me....andrewsleather.com is where I found his offerings. He sounds very nice and appreciative of my phonecall/business, and mentioned that is is bypassing the Tampa show this weekend but will be at the Palm Beach show instead.

Sam is a wonderful gentleman. I have only dealt with Sam over the phone, and he is the most congenial man on the planet IMO.
I have four of Andrew's holsters, one of the J frame pocket you mention. Best quality I have seen, hands down.
You are really going to like your holster.

Nice looking leather work. One of these days I need to get around to ordering one of the Urban Safari rigs if for no other reason than display.

Have a Monarch shoulder holster with setups for J Frame and 1911, three different McDaniel II's and a mag holder of his. If he's at a show, he has a table and it's the best time to buy if you can. He's a good person to deal with. Like many good makers he's smothered in work!

Nice rig Mickey....I like rough side out...keeps the holster in place....never could understand smooth finished leather pocket holsters.

I agree. My Rough Out pocket holster is what I always use with the smooth side towards the gun so it releases the gun much easier as well.
