Has anyone here polished up their newer Pro Series revolver? I've come across a couple great threads from this site over the years about polishing stainless guns. I'm picking up my new 686 SSR tomorrow, and I'm considering polishing up the matte bead blast finish. If anybody has polished their newer slab-sided revolvers (60 Pro, 686 Plus, 686 SSR, 627 Pro, etc) I'd love to see how it turned out.

Part of my reason for wanting to do this is that eventually I'd like to get the gun ionbonded black by Springer Precision. My understanding of ionbond is that it takes on the appearance of the underlying finish. So a matte finish will turn out dull and gray, a shiny finish will turn out closer to a blued look. At least that's how I believe it's been explained.

So in light of this, I'm curious what a polished up pro series gun will look like.

I sent my 627 Pro Series back to S&W to be polished I. Couldn't be more happy with it. It came out looking superb. I don't have photos tight now, but I'll post them later. It's my duty gun I carry everyday. I get numerous compliments on it.

I'd like to see pictures of that polished 627 myself. I just picked one up and plan on wearing it and expect it to develop a polish in areas, and rather than have it bead blasted on occasion I figured I'd just polish the rest of the gun. I like the look of polished, anyway.
