Attended the local gun show this morning. I figured that by the time I got there at noon it would have been pretty busy, but for whatever reason it was like a ghost town. I ran into merlindrb who was walking around instead of in his usual spot at the first table just inside the door. He remarked that it was so dead, that he had to walk the floor to keep from falling asleep. Saw a few interesting Smiths...a couple of pre war M&Ps, including one in nickel. A lot of Model 10s with various finish wear. I came across a pre rail 4013TSW for $475 that I wanted, but I couldn’t get the gentleman to make a trade with me for a P229 I brought. I didn’t have the cash to haggle. Prices were really high, at least for things that I would want to buy. I saw a clean 5” Model 41 from the early 80’s with box, papers and tools, but the asking price was $1450. One thing I saw a lot of, and maybe because we had been discussing them in the forum and they caught my eye, was the AMT Backups. There were no less than three vendors (private sales) that had some for sale. I saw every caliber except .38 Super and .357 Sig, including a .40 S&W and a .45ACP which aren’t that common. I did see an AMT Hardballer for $450. First one I’ve seen in awhile, again maybe because of the discussion that Cherrypointmarine had started about the AMTs.
All in all, it was a fun way to spend a couple of hours and catch up with some friends I rarely see outside of the shows. I didn’t see anything I couldn’t live without and only bought another mag for my carry P239 because I had 9 and wanted an even 10. I don’t really go out of my way for gun shows anymore, but when they’re less than 10 miles from home, cheap, and free parking...it was worth it.

I have not been to a gun show in quite some time where I saw reasonable pricing on any gun ammo or reloading components. It seems that that people have not realized what the internet has done to bring competition.
I still go to gun shows but rarely buy anything.

I hear you ! I'm about to give up on the one here in Orlando . I think it's more of a tradition now . I started going with my brother , and now I think of him when I go . If it was just guns , it'd probably be half the size .
