Two day show that was really slow. Friends have FFL and set up tables for both days. Small crowd but this show followed another just two weeks earlier. Not many guns coming through the door and they wanted big money for everything. No pistol powder, 22lr was $45+ a brick. Big building but not as many vendors as normal, missing about 100 tables.

Those who did come to the show were not buying much, just going through the show banging people's guns together as they look at them. Lots of picking stuff up with no intention to buy. This is about the sixth show in a row that people are not buying much and I believe it's because of a bad economy.

Forgot to add that a Cabelas rep came through the show wanting to buy all the used guns on the tables for 35% off the marked price. Nobody took them up on it that I saw.

Ive seen Walther P-38s rapidly climbing in prices here.I bought my last one for $450--and a nice one too. The ones I saw, ranged from $1,100to $1,600.

Even though I'm only 45 min. away, I stopped going to the Portland shows some time ago. Too few actual gun sellers, much too high a percentage of stuff only marginally or not at all related to guns, and as others have noted, prices generally too high, frequently by hundreds of dollars. The smaller shows around the valley is where I'm finding interesting deals, although some of those shows can be so small that you're done in half an hour if nothing particular catches your fancy.

Several years back I was visiting my Nieces in Beaverton and there was a GREAT, though small show I attended. Possibly the Oregon Collectors Assn/Oregon Antique Arms Collectors...something like that.

Small show but great displays and quite a few old S&W's.

Also attended probably the show in the original post. A joke of a show even five years ago. BUT...There was a guy in the parking lot selling clean, fat fifty cans out of a pickup for $8 each. I bought TWENTY.

I doubt I could have been happier with that particular show.
