Possible Model 27-2 trade

What vintage is the 9422? 27-2's are easy to replace. If the Winchester is pre 1964 it would be a solid trade.

I would do the trade for the 27-2 if it was like new without much thought about it.

What is the barrel length on the M27-2? I would make the trade regardless, but if one of the shorter barrels, the trade would be great for you.

I would jump on that trade! Long guns have just gotten too space consuming for me to store. I went to all pistols about 10 years ago; and, a 27-2. . .wow!!

Prices on both those models are all over the map. Ive seen some hefty sums asked and paid for both. I guess it all boils down to what you want to own. I'm in the 27-2 camp. Hell of a lot more useful than a lever action 22. Any more particulars on the 27-2? Barrel length, finish etc?

It depends.

I have three 22 lever actions, Win.9422, Browning, and the Marlin 39. Sadly the Japanese Browning will out shoot the other two, that said the Winchester was first and given to my wife, who loves it. So anyhow, I've watched the 9422 outpace the 27-2 in value during the last six years. It is probably on the short list for Miruko to return to its production which may depress your 9422 value, but I bet more folks would want a 94 in 22 lr built in the USA from the past. What ever you chose the 27-2 would be quicker and cheaper to replace in my opinion. More important is that every gun collection must have a 27-2, I never felt the pressure for the 94, and I even live under a hat.

I wouldn't do it.

The 27-2 is a 6 inch in almost new shape. Gun only, no box.
I would definitely make the trade. I do not collect Winchesters and have no desire to own a lever action .22.

I would check GunBroker, etc., to make sure I knew what the Winchester currently sells for. Then you'll know if a straight up trade is in your favor or his. If his, you could always ask for some cash to boot.

Would have to think hard about that trade. The 9422 "NIB" is likely worth $1100 or more. One on GB with case colored receiver did not meet the reserve with a $1925 bid. The ones offered on GB at the moment have starting bids from $1350 to $3999 (case colored receiver). I think NIB 27-2s are easier to find and priced for less, even on GB. Probably wouldn't shoot either one in NIB condition but probably shoot my 22 lever guns (Win, Marlin, Browning) more than any of my 27s. As much as I like 27s I don't think I'd be willing to trade a NIB trapper for a six inch 27-2. Good luck.

I think this would be a great trade.
