Possible pick up

My gunsmith buddy has a list of guns that are inbound from the widow of a gentleman who doesn’t want the guns around. One is a model 19 snub. Looking for - number and year for sn 5K025xx. No other information or pictures at the moment, or a timeframe for seeing it.

5K numbers started in 1972 and went up to 5K6616 that year. In 1973, they went from 5K6617 to 5K73962. The rest (up to 5K99999) were used in 1974.

The problem with the number you supplied is that S&W didn't use a zero as the first digit after the K. If the number is actually 5K25xx, then it is from 1972. You need to clarify what the number actually is.

Added: Anything in the 5K range would be a Model 19-3.
