I want to powder coat a couple lengths of Kendorf (aka Unistrut) channel. I have the electrostatic gun for application, but they will be too long to fit in an oven. I was thinking of using a MAPP gas torch to heat the powder enough to melt. I’m wondering if the torch will just blow the powder away. Has anyone tried powder coating on something that won’t fit into an oven? Any ideas?

I have heard of people that powder coat items that will heat up the item first to the required temp and then blow the powder onto the item to be coated. When the powder hits the item it instantly does its thing.

I have wondered that exact same case scenario myself for long or large objects. When you find out please post it - thank you.

A couple of Heat Lamps directed on the surface to heat it up,,then use the Electrostatic applicatorgun on it.
Maybe it'll be hot enough to melt it on contact.

I first thought of some sort of electrical hook up,,like over-heating wiring.,,but it'd be your Unistrut channel heating up,,just not too much!
You can tell I don't know much about electrical stuff.
But maybe there's a way with the right guidance from the right source.
