i would like to know which powder measure works the best with unique powder? i load with unique only. i do not use other powder. i want to know from the ones who use unique what powder measure will measure it the closest. i know unique is a hard powder to measure consistantly. i know it will not stay constant. i think if it willstay within plus or minus 2 tenths. thats real close. i just want some ideas from those here who load with unique. i load in the range of 4 to 10 grains of powder in what i load. i know unique is a forgiving powder. some variation is acceptable, and will not change anything. any info helpful. thanks scooter-2

I'm not as experienced as most folks, but I mostly use Unique too. I find it works well in my Lee Audo disk for measurements of ~ 2.3 - 5.5. Measuring one of every 15-20 I might get .1 low, never high.

Not accurate enough for some but for handguns and Unique seems to work for me.

Coarse flake powders like Unique , Blue Dot , Red Dot are tough , but my Redding Model 3 with the optional micrometer pistol measure works well enough. The hopper baffle and a consistant 'tap' of the throw lever up and down help immensely.

I've been using a Lee Auto-Disk for 30 years without a problem, though I did upgrade all seven of my powder measures to use the Pro kit for better consistency.

I have had good results with unique from my old Hornady Deluxe powder measures (one on my progressive press and one free-standing), most frequently 5-10 grains, with very little variation, usually less than 0.1 grain. Can't address the current LnL powder measure, but it was developed from the older version.

I have used the RCBS Uniflow at least 20 years. I use Unique for .45ACP, .45 Colt, .357, and .44 Mag and milder .454 Casul. All of my loads shoot better than I do.

I do not use a lot of Unique but have and tested it with the Uniflow and will second Joe's opinion. It hardly varied at all.

Little Dandy

For reloading my firearms with Unique, I use RCBS's Little Dandy. I find that it throws consistant loadings although the loads are limited because the loading rotors are fixed in their volumes.

It also works as powder measure in the field for my rifles when paired with a scale. At home I use my Hornaday powder measure for my rifles.
