I have a very limited stock of 9mm ammo these days, plenty of .45 tho!! However I have a few hundred rounds of 100gr +p Powr'ball that I group with quite well and have been carrying in my 5906. Any specific ups or downs on that load from ur experience? My only concern is the unusually light bullet weight (grain)

Powerball is reputed to be a reliable expander as well as a high energy load in most, if not all calibers. In every gelatin test I've read, Powerball tends to be a shallow penetrator. My best SWAG is that you're looking at a load that won't do the FBI 12"-14" penetration, more like 9"-10", but all it is is a SWAG. It's decent ammo and I could carry it with confidence, I just like other product lines more.

I should add that Powerball, like Federal Expanding Full Metal Jacket, is a niche load well suited to guns with feeding issues when it comes to anything but ball ammunition, and locales that restrict hollowpoint ammo.

I carried Pow'rball in my Kahr PM9. There was never a problem with feeding and recoil was easily manageable. The round hit within the target area (gray zone on a TQ-19 target) at the qualification distances, but I can't honestly state that it shot perfectly to point of aim. I qualified with it on our department's BUG course.

Is an excellent load. Feeds like FMJ (in fact the polymer tip is easier on feed ramps than a copper jacket) and expands violently. Cor-Bon is my favorite ammo company.

I have the 9mm Hornady Civilian Defense new rds. I bought 10 boxes from the Grand Island,Nebraska factory and the first box I tested in the gelatin mushroomed real nice just like the pic showed and it went in deep. Same as with a old heavy winter coat and jeans material to. rz625-8
