Currently shoot PPC and use a Safariland 002 Cup Challenge holster(borrowed one to boot). I was going to just get a new 002 holster but have been looking more at these open style CR speed holsters for my revolver. Anyone using them and any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

In full disclosure, I've never shot a PPC match, but I'm getting ready to shoot one next month, so I've been perusing the rules and courses of fire. I personally see little benefit in a "race" holster for the PPC game, given the very generous "par times" you get to shoot each course of fire...shaving 1/10 or 2/10 of second off your draw time is just not going to matter in PPC.
I have a Bladetech kydex OWB holster that I use for IDPA and I think that will be just fine for my PPC match. I also think I'd worry about the gun falling out of a race holster, if I bumped up against something, or was scooting around picking up brass.

Most PPC shooters use a carbide lamp to blacken their sights. At least in my case, that's the biggest reason I use an open top type holster. A lot of guys also use a strap of some sort that goes over the barrel, to prevent the gun from falling out when bending over to pick up brass or other equipment.
