To date all I have shot from my S &W Sport 15 is Fed XM193 and it has worked great. I'd appreciate hearing from those of you that have used PPU blue box .223 ( WalMart ) and Wolf Gold .223, both 55gr. FMJ. How have they been in your Sport 15 ? Reliabilty ? Accuracy ? Cleanliness ? Thanks.

blues7, I kindly thank you for your imput.

I'll look forward to hearing about the blue boxed PPU / PRVI .223 .

Wolf Gold .223 is my top pick for value ammo. You can find it for $300/case shipped if you look around.
Great for plinking, great for stockpiling (sealed primers and bullets), and it's rather hot for a .223.

Wolf gold is made in Tiwan. It used to be made by PPU years ago.

PPU is good stuff and the white box are military overruns. With primer sealant and all

I thank the 3 of you as well.

The one plus, if it's good to go , about the PPU / PRVI is that it can be found in some WalMarts so one can grab 5 boxes to try instead of a 500 rd. case bought online as I have with the Fed. XM193.

Hopefully, someone will report on that as well from their S&W.

I've found Wolf Gold to be quality ammo at the best price, so that's what I shoot. Look at SGAmmo.com for the $300/1k price. Most of us buy bulk because we know what we like, what our gun likes and it's reasonably inexpensive. Go ahead and try the Walmart stuff, see if you like it. If not, then look for some Wolf Gold and try that.

I pretty much only shoot Wolf Gold these days, can't beat the price of those 1k packs, 30¢/round and brass I can reload thank you come again!

I've only used PPU in my 7.62x39 Ak as indoor range ammo, but it was accurate and worked flawlessly

Wolf Gold is good and the brass is excellent for reloading. The only PPU I've used was their 5.56 stuff and it is good too however the brass has given me some trouble reloading. Something about it makes it really hard to size. So far I haven't found any ammo that my AR wouldn't happily eat with good accuracy.

I see no reason to buy anything else for my "battle" rifles.
