Prayer request from soFlaNative

Thanks all, prayers work.
Beginning of June Mom was driving herself the 5 mi. to Publix for groceries and meds while tending to her affairs and cheating (I kid) at bridge at the community clubhouse. The change in 3 weeks to her was drastic. I suspected a UTI and took her to a nearby ER on 28 June for a culture and the problem was discovered.
Examined by a GI in Sebring on the 10th he made arrangements to admit to the Advent Hosp. across the street the procedure happened on the 14th, discharged and transported to Lake Placid rehab the afternoon of the 17th. One of the benefits of my wife and I playing both ends against the middle was her finding out the transport arrangements and me notifying hospital staff.
She had a standing appt. with her primary on the 3rd and was given a cursory courtesy exam and then shown the door due to new ownership no longer accepting her insurance carrier. Having discovered a couple days earlier that while I had access to financials I was not an authorized health rep. With no internet service in the home I managed a HotSpot script, completed necessary paperwork with the help of a fax machine in town, secured a new primary (great folks much closer to home) and got her in to see the only GI surgeon in Highlands Co.
The intervening days were tough, punctuated twice by 24 hr. bouts of bathroom trips 15-25 min. apart with the occasional 1-1 1/2 hr. of sleep on her part. She was exhausted by the time we checked in to the Hosp. so establishing a baseline was next to impossible let alone having staff realize what a vital woman this was just a short time ago.
Thanks for tolerating my ramble, just wanted to express my gratitude for the prayers and well wishes, they did work. She's gained strength to the point where the staff will have to scramble to keep up with her, what a difference a day made.
Still a ways to go, I've modified her bathroom shower, found and corrected issues with the house water supply and still need to enlarge her front door stoop. I'm just grateful I am in a position to do this and having the support of the fine folks here at S&W.
All our best, Brad and Mom

Here's to hoping for a great recovery. Dealing with the elderly and their healthcare can be trying. My M-in-L refuses to follow any medical advice and is much happier complaining and making everyone miserable.
