I own S935xx .44 special. It's been a safe queen for 20 years and I've not applied for a letter . But after hearing that Mr. Jinks has hundreds in the queue, I thought I would turn to the Wizards of Ampersand for some opinions. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I've never fired it and it certainly has not been fired much. No box or papers. Grips are both stamped with s#. Small ding in one grip and a dimple near the .44 spl. mark on bbl. Overall excellent plus. I have a bunch of pictures on 44 S&W Special - BrigadePhotography

I hope this helps. Thanks

In my search for a '52 shipped Pre24, I have compiled a data sheet of serial numbers for early 50's guns. It may be because they weren't big sellers, but whatever the reason the sequence of serial numbers jumps around quite a bit. Pre24 # S933** shipped in April 1952, then there is S855** from Feb. '52. Both are 6 1/2" guns and the only ones I have info on from '52 so far. The majority date from '54 and '55. Yours is most likely a '52 or '53. Beautiful gun by the way. Lee

My S98250 shipped April 1954. Both grip panels are stamped with the serial number? That would be very unusual.

Real nice, There's only one way it could be any nicer to have a shorter barrel. Just my two cents worth and Back in the sixty's and seventy's the longer barrels were the way to go . I remember my first 29 6", my buddy bougth a 4" the same day and I thought that will be uncomfortable to shoot. Little did I know that down the road I would have to have several 4" guns.
