I just came across a Pre 27 (or at least thats what i was told) 95% TH,TT,TS. Barrel #ed to Frame,Ser# S 168XXX.

What is it worth?
Born On Date if possiable or any other Info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Steve

I'd guess around 1956-1957, and it could be a 4 screw as the upper side plate screw was eliminated in 1957. They also started labeling them the Model 27 in 1957. You need to take a close look at this one to make sure it is not Mod. # stamped. In 95%, and definitely a Pre 27, and if still a 5 screw, depending on the barrel length it could range from $650 to nearly $1000 (or, I see some now listed for over $1000). The 3 1/2" is the most sought after and thus the most expensive.

H Richard is correct, value would depend on several factors including barrel length, finish (blue or nickel you don't say) and overall condition. You also mention it had target stocks which could be replacements. A pre 27 from around that time would probably have had magna type grips unless target grips were special ordered.

Thanks for the info.
It has Smooth Target Football Stocks.

There is NO model# in the yoke area. On the crane there is a series #'s and a "7" on the frame in the yoke area.
It is not a 5 screw.

Thanks again
