Here’s the other addition. I have long wanted an ‘06 Model 70 & decided that this one was priced right & had a nice condition. Has a Lyman 4X scope that I’ll adjust for myself & zero. Then leave it as is. The Winchester pre ‘64’s are just so smooth, this one was taken care of in its prior life. Paid $900 for it, seemed fair to me, it’s a 1958 vintage.

Oh & pay no attention to the elk hamburger helper in the photo, I was about to eat dinner when I decided to take the photos.

When you go Christmas shopping, you go Christmas shopping!! You found a real gem there Cory.
BTW, elk hamburger helper?? I'm headed over to your house!

Yes! What an awesome rifle. I'm a lefty and it's my favorite. I have a .30-06 set up exactly like yours...including a Lyman 4X and the old steel Redfield Jr mounts. The pre-64 M70s are better than most anything on the market today.

Bob,
Great looking photo. I will sight it in with Remington 180 grain PSP Core-Lokt like I do with all my '06's. They always work on every deer or elk my dad & I have shot.

I have debated sending the Lyman scope in to be refurbished at a place in Texas that has an old Weaver of mine right now. But I haven't decided for certain.

Adjusted the scope today to get the eye relief correct for myself & bore sighted it. It’s ready to shoot now. Also sanded on the ring marks on the stock. I have about 3 more coats of tru oil & it will be done.

If you decide to send your Lyman in for service, send it to Parson's in Ohio. They are the "go to" people for Lyman repair and bought out all the Lyman parts from Lyman after they stopped scope sales.
