I have a chance to buy a Model 10-4 which is in probably 90-95% shape and it has a 2" barrel (VERY short, I don't think it even makes 2.5"). It looks a LOT like a Chief's Spl., except for the 6-shot cylinder. It is pre-lock, pre-MIM. Serial number starts with BPB (I presume the late 90s?). He wants $325 for it. Should I pick this one up?

MMA,check the Standard Catalog of S&W,but if my memory is correct 10-4`s are somewhat scarce.I think the price is reasonable.

If the s/n begins with BPB, it can't be a 10-4. The 10-4 is a 1962 gun, and the BPB gun is a 1993 gun.

As to price, $325 is OK.
