Anybody have any experience with these gennies sold at Harbor Freight? I'm specifically interested in a 2000W Inverter to charge my boat batteries on vacation. Thanks And yes I know that Honda is the best out there but I can't afford that right now.

Had one about a year with no problems. I did get the replacement warranty just in case.

Don't know about their gennies but, I have a 6.5 hp Predator on a mudmotor going strong after ten waterfowl seasons now.

I have a Predator 9hp engine on a piece of equipment, starts 1st pull every time and runs good. It is about 3 years old. I see a lot of them on go karts around here

Get it, you'll be very pleased with it. :D

I have an 8750 watt Predator gen from HF. I use it to run my house when the power goes out. Never a problem. I have a 3600 watt gen that I bought from HF over 10 years ago. Again. Starts fast. Runs good. No problems with it either...........WITH BOTH, when done I turn the gas off and run them till they shut down.

I have a "Champion" model 2000 watt gen that I bought at Tractor Supply maybe 10 years ago. Use it a lot camping, and have had no issues.

Was recently talking about gen's with a guy who runs a small engine repair shop. His opinion was that brand is secondary, what really mattered was frequent oil changes, and using non alcohol based gas for long life and fewer starting issues.

I will likely buy a larger model (wheeled, electric start) Predator Generator once we get into our new retirement place. We will be on well water there and so I'll need a 220v generator for when the power goes out.

I've had good luck so far with modern Chinese-made generators. I see no pressing need to go to one of the premium name brands. They are probably all made in the same Chinese factories anyway.

My Predator 8750 runs my whole house except the heat pump. I made a "suicide plug" that runs from my gen to the stove outlet(50A) and backfeed to the main breaker box.

Likewise, I'm not going to be able to run my 5-ton heat pump on the generator, but that's okay since I have propane back-up for heat. :)

And if the outage occurs during hot weather, we'll open the windows! :D
