I'm about to sell some prelock revolvers and am having a hard time determining fair asking prices. I haven't looked in a while. I've been going over GB trying to get a handle on the latest. Are there other good sites that are fairly current? I watch the Classifieds here too.

Thanks for any input.

There is no "set" additional selling price for no lock Revolvers that I am aware of. They usually bring much more than the same revolver with the I/L and what determines the price is more related to the condition, box, paperwork and cleaning kit (or lack of) and of course the demand and availability of said model and finish. IMHO. Personally I'd never own a Revolver with the I/L, but there are many here that are OK with it so they don't care one way or the other.

If you post some good pictures and give us more details that would be helpful in guiding you with prices. Let us know what accoutrements come with the guns as well.

You can also search the classifieds here since there are quite a few of S&Ws listed AND sold right here.

I agree with the GB suggestions. You can also check True Gun Value, local gun stores and even local gun shows(if you REALLY want to see some outrageous prices...LOL).

Good luck with your journey, ultimately it comes down to finding someone who's willing to pay your price. Sometimes it's easy and other times it can take awhile to find that right buyer-seller combination.

Look at the true gun value website as well as gunbroker completed auctions. With those two values, it will give you a good handle on real world prices.

You can buy a price analysis on gunbroker for $1.99. Usually, it's best to make it a penny auction with no reserve. Pictures taken on a white background with light from at least two directions gun polished with a micro fiber cloth, showing forcing cone, blast shield, frame w/o grips, lighted bore. You may want to make sure the auction ends on Sunday night.

What do you have? There are many on this site that will give you valuable info. This site is also full of potential buyers
