Pressure washer hoses

I know this is a weird topic here on the S&W site but I thought you guys might know. I need to buy a new pressure washer hose. Currently it has a cheapo 1/4"x25' hose. I want something longer so I figured I would need a bigger diameter hose. On my old washer I used an extension hose (also 1/4") and that caused a noticeable drop in pressure and water flow. Web sites I have checked have claimed the drop should be minimal, but it was very definitely noticeable. My washer is pretty small. It only has 1700psi to begin with. I like it's lower pressure since I don't destroy as much but I can't afford any further pressure drops. Have any of you guys ever replace your pressure hose with a longer one. How did things go? How flexible was it? I don't want a hose so heavy that I hate using it. I was thinking about a 5/16"x50' or a 3/8"x50'.

Check out Harbor Freight. They might have something. Problem is, if you get a different size hose, the pressure may not be the same. If you are losing pressure, it could be something else you need to work on.

Have always used a 1/4inch 50ft hose on my Honda GC190 power washer. 6HP 2.7gpm and 2700psi.

I think the water hose you use for your input makes more difference than the output hose. Long cheap water hoses that collapse easily are a royal pain when using a power washer.

I have a 100 foot garden hose made by that company. Pretty strong and light as a feather.

My little 1600psi electric power washer came with a kinda plastic hose that wants to stay coiled all the time. I'd like to try the one you linked to if I knew it would fit my little Ryobi washer.

Pretty sure the connections are all standard, you should be fine.

I've never used a power washer with a hose longer than 25 foot.

I want to add that I have a two-story house and trying to clean it using a 25ft hose is a real pain. Also, the easier it is to do the job the more likely I am to start the job. I only have one faucet that I can connect my garden hose to. That means I sometimes have to run the hose through my house to get the washer where I need it. A 50ft hose will eliminate that problem. By the way, thanks to everyone for the reply's.

I've never used a power washer with a hose longer than 25 foot.

My question was for the OP not you.He has now answered why. He wants to get up to a 2 story house.
