I'm looking for a price check on a Lew Horton Performance Center "HUNTER" in .44 Mag, 629-5. I believe the product code is 170124. The serial number is JZJ0028.

Stainless steel with glass bead finish, fluted cylinder. 6-1/2" barrel with a removable muzzle brake and a replaceable end cap. Two sighting systems. A Millet Redot sight mounted on a removable Leopold base, and the factory S&W target sights (blued ramp front sight, white outline rear adjustable sight). The grips are smooth rosewood combat with finger grooves. Aluminum carry case with the S&W Performance Center Logo.

Thanks!

Between $700. and $1200.

The situation here is , when pricing a relatively scarce
Performance Center 44 Magnum model 629 it really
comes down to what are you willing to pay?

I watched a beautiful P.C. 629-5 light hunter 6"barrel
languish on a gun broker auction for $800.

I would have bought it in a minute if I could have afforded it.

How much are they asking for the gun you are looking at?
This will give us an idea of whether it is overpriced or not.

Good luck.

Hi A.F.

Thanks for your comments.

Actually, it's mine. I bought it in 2000 to hunt deer, but never used it. Since then my interests in guns has changed quite a bit.

I stopped at a gun store yesterday, and saw a couple pieces I would much prefer having. Consequently, I decided to either try to sell this outright, or offer it as a trade toward the other guns. Did a lot of searching, but have not found another example of this model for sale. I actually had to call Smith & Wesson to determine it's origin.

My post was to give me some idea of what to ask.

FWIW....I'd list it here for a fair price. Tough time to be selling guns on the general market. Whereas HERE we are a slightly different group.
