Found one at a LGS and he is asking 2000 and won't budge on price. Hard chrome, Rd butt, modified barrel. Yeah or nea.
The only value is in the name of the gunsmith that modified it. I would rather have a M24 distributor exclusive. Just me
Would love to see pics of one. Never heard of a Jovino... I need to get out more!
Sorry, but I disagree. The value is in the custom work done to the gun, and the name of the gunsmith assures us that the work was done correctly. Since S&W never made a .45 Colt round butt snub (that I'm aware of), like they did the M24, then the only way to get that configuration is by having it customized. I think $2k is a fair price for that gun but not a bargain.
I did pass on it, to much for my liking but I did pick up a nice 28-2 with the S serial pre-fix so I was happy
I have a 25-5 that is one of my favorite guns, but I would not spend 2000 dollars on a gun that is not original. The only value is in the name of the gunsmith that modified it. I would rather have a M24 distributor exclusive. Just me
How do you know if it is Really a Jovino.
If it has not been lettered, you are taking a chance.
If you were to have that same work done by a custom gunsmith
Today, it would probably cost you $2000 anyway.
So, if you like it, buy it!
