how much would a good trigger job cost for my 4506? the single action pull it a bit... i dont know how to explain it. when the hammer is back and i pull the trigger a bit it clicks then theres and area where it stops a bit then once you pass that the hammer drops.

i also might want to lighten the DA pull also.

It sounds like you need to replace the "trigger play spring", a small copper colored U-shaped spring on top of the trigger bar. It keeps the trigger close to the bar, if it's not broke you might be able to bend the ears forward slightly to take out the play. I use a Wolff 18# hammer spring and 3# trigger return spring to lighten the D/A pull, that and a good cleaning/lube will give you a pretty decent trigger.

this is my primary carry weapon but i want a lighter pull. if things dont workout i will go back to stock. i read about you haveing problems with the pin not hitting hard enough. do you think this will be an issue?

will the springs affect the SA pull at all?

The springs will have a effect on both the SA & DA pull. One reason I stay with the 18# hammer and not lighter is to keep the gun reliable, I've never had a issue with the 18#.

would adding a stronger recoil spring have any adverse effects on the gun besides being harder to chamber a round? i beleive the stock spring is 14#, im gonna order a 16# to help with recoil a bit.

im gonna order the hammer and trigger springs also, should i also order the extractor and firing pin springs?

I would stay with stock recoil spring, maybe the 16# if I was using the lighter hammer spring and +P loads. The 4500 series slide has enough beef in it to handle a lot of recoil to start with. To strong a recoil spring can cause poor cycling, ejection, failure to lock open on a empty mag. Wolff sends a firing pin spring with the recoil spring, the extractor spring can be a bear to change without the right punches and even with them. Wolff does sell a complete gun kit with all the stock springs and one mag spring, but it usually cheaper if you're going with the lighter hammer and trigger anyway to buy them seperate.

well im definately gonna be using +P loads, so im gonna get the 16# spring. does anyone know how long the stock spring is suppose to be? im also going with lighter trigger and hammer springs. how do you change out the firing pin spring?
