Good afternoon-

About to jump into this S&W Revolver thing with both feet. Found a used .357 Stainless Steel Lady Smith that I can get for $425.

I'm thinking this is a good price, when compared to a new pistol from Bud's at $613.

Am I overlooking anything?

Thanks for your help
Mike

Others more knowledgable than me will hopefully be along shortly. In the mean time, I do not believe that a LadySmith handgun would command any type of premium over a similar, standard model, unless it was like-new-in-box condition and came with all original boxes and accessories (i.e. carrying case, original grips, cardboard sleeve).

You say it is a .357 Magnum. I'm assuming that means it is a 3" Model 65 LadySmith. (I'm by no means an expert and could very well be wrong about this.) If this is correct, then $425 is probably a very good deal assuming it is in say 97% or better condition.

Model 60-14,serial # CNZ prefix.

It has been fired a few times but shows almost no drag marks on the cylinder. It is the 2 1/8" barrel. Double action trigger is smooth as expected and the Single Action is better than some fancy hunting rifles I've shot. Think about it and it breaks.

What you paid is pretty much in the ballpark in these parts, although they are not all that common. Asking prices go as high as $550, but sales seem actually closer to 425-450. I got one last year for $425, including original box and soft-side carry case, and have actually been offered $80 for the case by a collector!

There is a Model 60 Lady Smith .357, and it is a sweet little J-frame.

Thanks everyone for the input. When I get some time I'll get some pictures up here.

-Pisgah I got the box and all the paperwork including the NRA Membership card. I believe the only thing missing was the cardboard outer box for the hard shell.

Thank you, Pisgah. I didn't know S&W made a Model 60 Lady Smith in .357. I thought they only made it in .38spl.

Any how, it sounds like the OP got a nice revolver at a good price. Can't wait to see pics.

Promised Pictures

Well here are the pictures I promised. The holster is a Hays Holster. Can't wait to take it to the range and test both the pistol and the holster out.
