I just paid $1.159 for unleaded regular gasoline. I filled up the 17 gallon tank for $16.75 so I was not totally empty. I never thought I would see these prices again, so I may be driving a little more these days. This was at a local grocery store where non-members paid $1.359 and I got a 20 cent discount for being a regular shopper.

What are others paying for gas these days?

$1.55 to $1.75 per gallon. With Kroger rewards discounts I can usually knock off another $0.30 to $0.40 per gallon. Lots of folks here in Houston that have not already lost jobs, my B-I-L (an engineer) for one, are getting nervous. My opinion is... use the stuff like it still cost $4.00 per gallon, because it will in a year or two.

$1.35 here in central Kansas. The $10 a barrel tax is proposed by the current President and has zero chance of passing. They are staying it is a tax that will be paid by the oil companies. Um, no, they pass those along.

The demand for oil will need to pick up again for the price to come up. Lots of oil out there now especially with Iran back in the picture. Enjoy while you can, it is likely to get really bad much faster than it got this good. That is the way it usually works.

SE Pa cheapest regular I've seen is $1.89. Across the river in NJ I got fast last week for $1.51
Yesterday I topped off when I saw $1.89 since most places it's still $1.99. Figured that I since I had less than a 1/4 tank I may as well before I wake up the next day and see that it went up again. I loved the fact that it only cost me $16 instead of $30 or so

Thank goodness the the new fleet mileage requirements kick in this year, forcing the car manufacturers to downgrade their engines. Most companies make little weenie 4 bangers the standard engine now :(

I never thought I would see under $2 a gallon. Obama's 4.5% unemployment is a huge lie. World wide economy is sucking which is why price of oil has dropped.
Some are saying expect WW111 to start very soon. Iran just said they will not accept dollars as payment for oil. When and if that really happens and other oil producers do the same then kiss the dollar good bye. China, Russia, and several other countries are dumping the dollar as the reserve currency. Even US banks are dumping stocks and buying silver and gold like it is going out of style. Perhaps they know something they are not letting us know? This does not provide a good outlook for the USA.

Out west is still high...........
Reno lowest at $2.15 for the cheapo gas.

Arco etc. with additives will run you $2.35 but they say it is better for the motor.

It's still pretty high around my area at $1.89 but I could get it for less if I wanted to go to the side of town where I don't usually go, I quit doing crack.

Things aren't great in the US, but I still think things are worse in other places. Iran is just posturing, they have been enemies since 1979. China and Russia? They are all liars and cheats.

So they want to drop the dollar as their reserve currencies? That is their problem, not ours.

That being said, I've long since taken off my "The US can do no wrong" blinders. We have some fundamental problems, one of which is we need to wake up and realize it isn't still 1950. We have competitors now, and we can't continue our out of control spending. Our taxes and regulations have made us uncompetitive with the rest of the world. We aren't going to 'grow our way' out of this mess.

The fear now is that the Iranians will begin flooding the market with cheap crude, and that the Saudis will do nothing to stop it it. Some pundits are saying that crude may be selling at $15-$20/barrel this Summer. That's unbelievable to me, but anything's possible. Stock prices of all the refiners are headed south rapidly as their inventories of refined products are full to overflowing. My local convenience store here in San Antonio, which usually has the lowest gas prices around, is today 1.44.9. Others in the area are a few cents higher.

Saddam made that mistake a few months before the USA invaded Iraq. Probably had nothing to do with the war.

I paid $1.289 / gallon here in SW MI yesterday. Figures. When I was driving 63 miles one way to work, gas was close to $4 / gal. Now that I'm not, the price hits a ten-year low. :o
