Delivered to your house ... that has to be worth something .
If you can use that much lead ... it's not a bad deal .

Consider that America has shut down all it's lead mines whil;e pushing Electric Cars heavily ... those cars need big batteries and we don't have any source for lead ....
Lead Might be a better investment than Stocks & Bonds !

I would buy it but I cast , load and shoot a lot of cast bullets !

I’d have jumped on that deal.

I’m out of lead. My sources have dried up.

When you come up with a good lead mix, and your temperatures are just right and you can run 2 or 3, 4 bullet mounds, casting is fun. You can make a pile of bullets in a hurry.m

I also made about 600 10MM bullets on last Saturday.

This batch of lead with give me about 450 pounds of lead in the "Lead Locker".

Electric vehicle batteries don’t use lead. The 12v battery for auxiliary systems might, like any gas powered car.

The "lead" sold today can have lots of zinc. Some sellers know they have zinc contaminated lead others don't.
I quit buying lead from private sales when my groups opened up. I went back to buying from RotoMetals, and my groups shrunk down.
Good luck with making good bullets with your new lead.

I've had some zinc wheelweights in the pot and they always float up to the top. Zinc will not melt at normal lead casting temperatures. I have heard that some people actually melt the zinc and cast with it but I don't know anything about that and have never tried it.

Zinc will melt and turn your alloy into an oatmeal consistency. A lot of flux and dross can make a useable alloy for some.
I would have gone for that deal too, nice score.

I recently sold a ton to the local scrap yard for 1.05 lb delivered to them casr into muffin tins...they asked for more. I have about 600 lbs of 50/50 solder cast into ingots they offered me 4 dollars lb for. I tried casting pure zinc bullets and when cooled they were all undersized. I have a big Propane plumbers pot I melt stuff in. zinc does float on lead till it gets hot enough. I just though I'd try zinc bullets...more trouble than they ae worth. Guess you could powder coat heavily

I gathered wheel weights for years. I ended up with more than I’ll ever use. Mostly in ingots already. More to process soon, but my casting these days is waning. Mostly slugs for 20 gauge and 45 Colt HBWC. Any interest?

Luckily have over 200 lbs of Good wheel weights and about 100 lbs of commercial foundry type. The lead will last a few years but the foundry type will be a life time supply. Friends with a auto repair shop saves all their good wheel weights, iron and zinc go in trash.
