Looking for a magnifier & flip up mount to put behind my Eotech 512 red dot. The 6X model is really arousing my interest for the price.......

Mounted to one of these flip up's -

Seems like an affordable way to gain some distance on my red dot and have the flexibility of short to medium range in a hurry.

Anyone have any experience with these, or with Primary Arms products in general?

TIA,
OC

I love my PA Red Dot on my 15-22, about to order one for my Sport in a few minutes actually LOL.. and considering a magnifier too.

What a coincidence, I'm looking at getting those two items as well...unfortunately, the flip-to-side mount is out of stock, till April according to Marshall at PA. I have their M3 style red dot (single reticle) and it's been great so far.

Grrrrr........April until the mount is available? I wonder if someone else like Yankee Hill or Leapers makes a mount that's compatible with the PA 7X magnifier, pretty sure it's a 30mm.....

I saw quite a few magnifiers with flip mounts on ebay just window shopping under scopes last night.

Yep PA is good stuff n Marshal is top notch. We're using their M3 and a magnifier on the daughter's 15/22

My PA magnifier combo came in today, fit was pretty tight in the position I had mounted my Eotech red dot, with just enough clearance to do side flips. Magnifier seems well worth the money for a six power. No instructions, but I guess it's intuitive to mount it to flip to the left and out of the way of those nasty brass projectiles that are ejected on the right side.......Magnifier has adjustments to center your red dot, was fairly close when I first mounted it.

Think we got a winner here, can't wait to try it next week. :D

Thanks, Oneye - just dying to give it a try on the 100 yd range this week........at least now I'll be able to see the target at that distance.

I had their 5x magnifier on my 15-22 last year. But I took it off. Didn't like that the red dot is so far up the rail when the 5x is out of the way. But I have sort of a spotting scope now. LoL.

What would be awesome is if a magnifier could be mounted in front of the red dot. Then the dot always stays the same size and the red dot stays closer to your eye. Unfortunately the parralax or something is way off cause when I tried all my shots were about 14 inches to the right.

ive been looking at the same magnifier for a while, just wondering how the eye relief is. is it still ok when shooting with your stock fully extended?

If you're referring to the PA 6X magnifier........haven't had a chance to shoot it at the range yet with the mag set up, but relief seems to be just fine with either the stock fully extended or fully retracted......that is just by looking through the mag to the red dot to pick up a target.

Finally got to shoot through the Primary Arms 6X magnifier behind the Eotech 512 today using the PA flip up mount. The mount appears to be rock solid.

At 100 yds, this set up was not quite as accurate as a dedicated scope, was only able to manage 2 1/2 - 3" spreads, but was using Silver Bear 55 gr steel case Russian ammo. At 50 yds the patterns were tighter.

Wasn't disappointed though, as I got this setup with the intent of shooting short to mid range with my MP-15, and the flip up mount gives me that flexibility.

that is what you are trying to do, and it sounds like you have minute of chest cavity accuracy, or even minute of grey matter accuracy. I am happy for you and it really does look sweet.

Thanks, Oneye.....Yeah it's not as accurate a regular scope, but it's plenty accurate for hunting at 100-150 yds. :)
