I’ve gotten seven emails today from Midwayusa telling me that a number of WINCHESTER Primers (LP, SP, LR, SR, MAG & BR) were discontinued. By that, I assume that these products would no longer be manufactured and therefore not available for sale. What is currently in inventory would be sold then, nothing afterwards.
Hmm……..
I’ve also received email about other manufacturers primers being “discontinued “…..
Double Hmmm…………..
I’m not into conspiracy theories but I don’t like the extrapolated trajectory of these curves…..

Please keep in mind that there is a huge difference between a manufacturer ending production and a retailer no longer ordering a specific packaging variation of a specific item. It could be as simple as a different box color scheme….

The word “discontinued” is used to describe both scenarios. If you want the straight scoop you need to contact Winchester.

I received an email today but it only indicated Winchester USA Ready primers which are their match grade. You may have gotten something different but that was the info I got.

Right now there are plenty of primers. I’ve been buying primers as low as $49/1000 for spp with free shipping from Norma and picked up some a few weeks ago for $69 per 1000 from another supplier. Even my local dealer had several brands including CCI and Remington for decent prices in all sizes and flavors a week ago.

Best thing you can do is buy a box or two when you run into a decent price and start stockpiling. Do the same with powder and projectiles. You won’t regret it. I even do the same with toilet paper, remember the Covid rush.
