tell me about these old rifle primers

That's a box of Federal large rifle primers. From 1955 maybe? Nothing special but they should work fine so long as they have been stored half way decently.

Wish I was closer; Id take em. I have 300 left out of 500 that are in that same packaging. I got them at a auction last year cheap.
They work fine in my 6.5 and 6mm Creedmoor loadings. Please don't ship them. They are considered haz-mat and the shipper needs a haz-mat licence to legally ship them.

I have some 215s in similar packaging that a friend gave me when he sold his last rifle. I had no idea what era they are from. I hope you find a home for those. Given the situation with availablity of large rifle primers, I doubt that will be a problem.

When I started reloading in the mid-1960s, that was the type of primer packaging that Federal used.
