Forgive me if this is old news, but I just recently became aware of the existence of this movie despite the fact that it enjoyed a (very) limited introduction in 2013. I almost NEVER buy movies, but I may buy this one. It seems that it just now made it to DVD and I am hopeful will be available on netflix soon. Looks like it will be a "must see" for those that have questions about the Second Amendment and its vital importance to the republic. I thought I would do my part by highlighting it on the forums that I frequent. I am in no way affiliated with the movie:

Assaulted

UPDATE: I just found out this movie is available for free on HULU. Here is the link: http://www.hulu.com/watch/606389

However, there was a movie years ago starring Morgan Fairchild as a TV newswoman being stalked by a fan. The head cop told her that the police couldn't realistically protect her, so she got an Ithaca M-37, don't know which gauge.

Look carefully at her kitchen knives, too. They were made by Buck!

The title is, "The Seduction". I think it's out on DVD. Probably dates from the late 1970's. I saw it in the theater and think I have the VHS tape. I reviewed it for a gun magazine where I was a contributing editor for many years. Their PR girl sent slides to use in the review, inc. one of Morgan pointing the shotgun. I still have a slide or two.

My mother taught Morgan F. in her 11th Grade Honors English Class at Lake Highlands High School in a Dallas suburb.

About a decade ago, I realized that Morgan was sitting at the next table in a restaurant, with her sister. I introduced myself and she mentioned that her mother also taught in that Richardson school system. (Our mothers are since deceased.)

We spent a delightful 40 minutes or so discussing various things, inc. paleontology. She is one of the few in Hollywood who has that as a hobby. She is quite bright, and was an excellent student in that Honors English class.

Anyway, I told her how much I'd enjoyed that movie and had reviewed it. Asked if there was a reason why they'd chosen an Ithaca as the shotgun. She could barely recall making the movie and had no recollection of the shotgun brand. I suspect that she made that film to get income before she got plum roles on such TV shows as, Flamingo Road and I think, Dynasty, and on, Falcon Crest. It never occurred to her that the movie made a pro-gun statement.

But it was perhaps the sole film that I've seen that basically advocated that someone arm themselves against a human threat. It's worth finding and viewing. It's really a pretty good movie.

On reflection, I think they probably chose the M-37 because it was then the shotgun used by LAPD, so the prop man would know about it. And all the prop gun houses would have examples and some actors were trained on it.
