I have a near new S&W 500 and find that after shooting the cylinder is not locked. I will admit to shooting hot reloads and might have caused a problem. While firing the five rounds I check to see if it is still locked most of the time it is. But there are times it just rotates to next lockup. I am currently using Sierra 400 gr. jsp backed by H110 at 39 gr. While I have been unable to determan if it happens at the same spot on cylinder. Any thoughts as to problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hold the gun firmly with 2 hands. The recoil is causing the gun to bounce in your hand causing the cylinder to spin and unlock.
Don't use a shooting glove either as this can help the gun wiggle in your hand.

This is from S&W. Notice how the gun bounces in the shooters hand. When it bounces notice how the shooters finger is pressing on the trigger, causing the gun to unlock. This happens so quickly, as this is involuntary. It has happened to me as well.

Here is another video from the web. I don't know if it is true or now. I believe it to be true.
