Finally purchased my 1st Model 41 and it arrived today and I am extremely pleased with its appearance. I had hear some opinions over on RFC about whether it is better to have an older gun or a recent production. This pistol was a pre-A serial number built around 1968-69 I guess according to what I have read. Am anxious to put some lead downrange. Very easy disassembly on these. My only problem is I need a magazine or two that looks like the one pictured. Will keep my eyes open here, on GB and eBay.

Very nice pistol! In case you ever have the need, a Weaver rail (#61?) has holes that align with the ones in your gun's slide. Being aluminum, it is easy to cut the rail the length you desire as I did.

Nice pistol. Funny thing, the most temptation I ever had in my LE career involved a S&W M-41.

I responded to a crash one night and when I arrived the vehicle was on its side, abandoned, beer cans everywhere and a S&W M-41 in it. I hate drunk drivers and it crossed my mind to keep that pistol... but that’s inconsistent with who I am as a lawman so I put it into evidence for safekeeping. Of course the now-sober driver showed up at the office to retrieve his pistol a couple days later.

I never got around to buying one though, I’ve got several .22’s, mostly revolvers (including favorite, my K22).
