Psychological Addictions in General

See Ray Milland in 'The Lost Weekend' that is a classic example of DTs, or delirium tremens that is physical and mental torture.

I saw that film on some late movie show when I was a little kid. The DT sequence scared the bejesus out of me...the mouse and the bat and the blood running down the wall...whew. I was only about ten years old. The film's another Billy Wilder masterpiece, though.

Physiological is actual physical discomfort (misery) while psychological is the feeling that you need or want what you are addicted to because you believe that you need it to function, or feel up to doing your best, and that "what could just one hurt?"

I know. Thanks
