Got the anxiously awaited letter on this one yesterday. It was described and sold as a pre-Model 60 of all things. My cost delivered was $600.03 to my door. I understand not many PW nickel Terriers have surfaced. Even fewer that were PD shipped. Not sure how this one slipped under the radar at auction. Blind squirrel gets lucky again.
This one went to the Clarksdale, Miss Supt. I quick search shows a history of racial tension there. The invoice shows a separate personal order (taxed) for a K22 with Magnas for the Chief.
I also received two letters for a pair of PW .38/44 HDs. One shipped with HBH to a PD in CO. The other was hand delivered by a sales rep to Camp Perry. All three of these shipped within a month of each other in Aug/Sept '39. I'll discuss those two at a later date.
As it was sold to me: Lopped off hammer, but nice period i frame stags (that I'll keep with the gun).
Then how it looks now with correct hammer and walnut grips that match the wear of the gun.
