I got the same quad rails and they fit and look great. Recently got these covers for the rails.

Word of advice from a guy who's been there and done all the things that lighten a wallet...

Think long and hard about mounting a quad rail. They are bulky and heavy. They are not nice to hold onto, even with rail covers. There are lots of different handguard options that will allow you to either mount accessories directly to the guard (M-Lok & Key-Mod) or affix small sections of rail exactly where you need.
 
Getting a quad rail and then throwing covers on it is like buying a power strip and plugging all of the outlets with safety plugs.

Really the carbine length drop-in quad rails from Midwest Industries and Daniel Defense don't seem any heavier than the standard plastic carbine handguards that come on most rifles,at least subjectively to me. I don't know as much about the Troy Industries, haven't handled them as much, but they seem fairly light if I recall correctly. I am going to have to do some weight comparisons now. I have been suprised how heavy some brands of drop-ins can be, especially the really cheap ones.

I do agree that quad rails are not as nice to hold onto, but they do let you play around with light and forward pistol grip placement, which is part of the AR15 learning experience. I will admit you do wind up with a lot of wasted rail space as at most all I attach to mine is a light/light mount and maybe a short forward pistol grip.

While I appreciate the reduction in handguard circumference that comes from key mod rails, the key hole cut outs in the rails don't necessarily appeal to me.

That is a bad thing about the AR15 platform, there is no shortage of accessories and gadgets, that tempt you to lighten your wallet.:)

Actually, the rail covers are designed for comfort.
I'm not a commando, so I don't wear commando gloves.

Power strip safety plugs are designed to prevent shock/electrocution.
I'm smart enough to not stick screwdrivers in power strip receptacles, so I don't use the safety plugs.
 
First post on a fine forum.
I find the lined plastic handguards like the Magpul MOE to be more comfortable but if you're after a drop-in quad rail you may want to look at the one by Damage Industries. I didn't find a lot in the way of reviews but what I did find was positive so I bought it. It was a drop in fit on a Sport II. It's slimmer than many others and has a snug fit with good machining and a nice finish. I'm happy with the purchase. Damage often runs sales so some patience could pay off. Rail covers are designed for comfort . . . . to an unnecessary willingly introduced discomfort.

Do you run a quad rail, rail covers, foregrip, and not see the silliness?

No, I don't plan on mounting a foregrip unless I enter a combat situation or go Rambo.
My wife wants a foregrip for her M&P15. I think they're OK for women.
It's a personal choice.

You do not need to remove the front sight.
The installation is pretty easy. Rail covers are a great add on for a few bucks more.
Lots of people have been asking where I got the rail covers since they add comfort to your grip.

The quad rail should fit well as has been said but unless you are dead set on it asap it is probably not the best option. Main reason being, well handguards, rails, etc.. are probably the faddest of all fads that infiltrate the AR industry and sickness. Currently quad rails seem to be on the outs and the newest craze seems to be with the Kemod or M-Lok type handguards. Most of these I have seen are equipped with a top Picatinny Rail, which of course you have on the quad rails. Point being, why not have the best of all possibilities by looking at some of the newer options as these can be adaptable to whatever attachments you prefer. At the very least next time you are at your LGS or the next gun show pickup a few quadrails and let the feel have a say in this, if you haven't already.

Here is an opinion piece that is dated but I think gives you some perspective about all of this craziness. BTW Midway is a great place to start your research and for the price of this quadrail, newer options are pretty much the same in price.

update: I just found this short and more recent piece. My question about all of this is when will the military, if they haven't already, take a serious look? I am no expert of course but it will be interesting as most of us in here are wanting time tested equipment and that's of course the fun of cloning military grade weapons. enjoy.

Handguard hole shape is largely aesthetic. There isn't a rail system that is a bad choice. Keymod is fancy speak for retail store shelving technology lol
Moe/mlok/oval holes are easier to make, but you don't see that cost difference in price. Might matter at large scale volumes.
 
Yes, the carbine length will work. The longer lengths will not.

Consider a longer free float design.

As JaPes suggests, be sure to understand the different designs and options before you start replacing parts on a rifle you "just bought".
