If it's a 6 shot, it will work fine. If a 10 shot, it won't work. It's a simple matter to ream the chambers, once the cylinder is fitted to the gun. Ocasionally, one will fit the gun as is.

Whats the bore diameter of the barrel? 22 Mag is larger than 22 rim fire.

The smaller barrel is irrelevant. The bullet will swage to fit it. I have shot .357 diam. jacketed hollow points in a .355 barrel for years with extreme accuracy. Lead bullets will conform more easily.

Probably not a concern or you'd noticed but might wanna check front of cylinder for gas ring?
IIRC, I think the 17-3 was when it was briefly removed from cylinder???

Just don't load a CCI WRF round with a copper jacket at .226 dia.

Amazingly, that would probably still work. It would be interesting to try it and find out. You are not going to blow up a gun with any .22 rimfire round. The worst that could happen would be to get a bullet stuck in the barrel and have to knock it out (easy to do).
Yeah just pull trigger again. It’ll clean it right out
Bore size shouldn't make a difference I don't think in a quality firearm. I did once have an Arminius DA with 2 cylinders One S,L,LR...other Was magnum. 3 round through the mag...the bbl 4th round barrel went flying...put it back repinned it came off again..After about this hapenning 4 or 5 times...I was driving across the Chesapeake Bay bridge. Threw that thing out of the window to the deep part of the shipping channel. Good place for it. probably the only part left of that *** is the plastic grips after all these years of partly salt water
