OK guys haven't been here in awhile and am back with a quick question. Over the years i've had a few ankle holsters for several of my larger off-duty pieces. Now being retired i still carry a CCW. Both of my CCW's are S&W's. I have a 9mm Shield and a S&W Bodyguard 380.

I'm looking for a ankle for the Bodyguard 380. What i'm looking for is one that is comfortable and won't leave the gun slapping up against my chicken ankles! Any recomendATIONS APPRECIATED :)

I have had good results with my 40 Shield riding in a DeSantis ankle holster. It stays where I put it and you don't even realize it is on your ankle after 15 minutes. I wear mine for over 12 hours at a time, and I like the thumb break for secureing the weapon in the holster. I think you can order one for your Bodyguard 380 also. Good Luck on whatever you buy.

I also have a DeSantis ankle holster for a model 38 Airweight, my ankles aren't tree stumps either, I found it comfortable/secure. Works very well with my duty Danner Fort Lewis boots, black leather blends in very well.

I had my first Galco Ankle Glove for a baby Glock for over ten years. I replaced it was a new one just because the ankle band was getting a little worn and the Velcro didn't seem like it stuck as well. The holster body and thumb break are still solid even though a bit scuffed. I have relatively skinny ankles and the Galco has been the most comfortable ankle holster I've ever used. I've also used Alessi (Glock) and Renegade (Model 60), but they weren't as stable for me as the Galco, and the Renegade seemed to allow the revolver cylinder to dig into my ankle. I have stopped using an ankle holster now because it seems that over a prolonged number of years, wearing one with a 23 oz pistol hasn't helped my lower back. Your .380 is not as heavy, however.

I have a 9mm Shield and tried it in the Crossbreed Ankle rig but the muzzle wasn't covered so it would hit my ankle bone. I returned it and am now happily using the Desantis Apache Ankle rig without the calf strap. I did add another piece of clothing to help keep the holster in place and that's a McDavid calf compression sleeve. I wear them all the time for sports so I found one (for $15 at Sports Authority) that does the trick. Holster doesn't move at all. If you are used to compression gear, I would recommend this setup if you find the holster falls to your ankle and you don't want to wear the calf strap. There are some slick sleeves out there that have no grip so be sure you get the right one. I found the cheapest one and it works.

Same issue here (8 years of constant wear). I didn't want to shelf the holster so I called Galco. 2 weeks and $20 later I had what appeared to be a brand new rig! All new material except for the leather holster but it was even refinished and polished.

Excellent customer service!

I have also found wearing a light sock under the ankle holster, and then my "real" sock over the bottom half of the holster helps both with comfort and concealment.
