A couple/few years back I bought a surplus 92S. So I did the initial field strip to clean and minor inspection of the few things I could get to without tools, besides the grip panels. All went well. Then I pulled the magazine base plate etc. to clean its insides. Easy peasy, until I found the follower has a slant to it, toward the left side or the right? It seemed to go back together easier if I put the slanted side toward the right, with the pistol pointed away from me and mag in place. Fast forward to the present and my friend, who has issues with both shoulders, showed me his S&W M&P Shield and asked me to load one of the mags for him. (Today I gave him one of those Upula mag-loader things.) I noticed his followers were slanted toward the left side of the pistols. Can someone tell me which way the Beretta 92S follower is supposed to slant toward?
Yes, I'm embarrassed; all the control wiring and other parts on any HVACR unit I have worked on over the years I always used wire markers, pictures, whatever so I didn't miss anything. I should've known better. Yinz can laugh at me and talk behind my back. I deserve it! Thanks for the help!
The gun is my most accurate pistol in my meager collection, and it works pretty good no matter which way I put it facing, but "I gots to know!" Jeff

If it works you have it in right. You really can't put a 92 magazine follower in backwards, and if you somehow managed to do it the notch/shelf that engages the slide lock on an empty magazine would be on the wrong side. Don't have a Shield magazine to look at but the Shield Plus magazines I have are the same as the 92SB ones, with the high side of the follower on the left as you look at the magazine from the back.

Thanks guys. I kinda thought it was a non issue, as this used gun is a great shooter. Not sure how old it is but I've never had any issues that I can think of. "If it ain't broke don't fix it."
