Question about limited edition 629s

I've discovered a collection of S&W 44 magnums for sale near me. All NIB. There is a matched set of 629s (I think they were -4s) that interests me. One is about 6" (didn't handle them yet and could be 8"), unfluted and labeled as a Rocky Mountain Hunter serial number RMHXXXX one of 300something. The other is 3", unfluted and labeled as an Alaska Backpacker serial number RMAXXXX also one of 300something. The number parts of the serial numbers are the same. Price is $750 each firm. I haven't been able to find any info on them. Is that a good price? I'm not a collector but these could get me started.
