So I bought this lee 240 gr rn mould dia .429 . I casted up a few bullets and sized them and lubed them in a pan. In my speer book it calls for oal of 1.610 I loaded a few dummy's and crimping on the crimp line it gave me a oal of 1.655 If I had used a wadcutter bullet I know it would have came in on the money. I planned to use it for plinking loading them down to 6 gr of red dot for about 870 fps. would the 45 thousanths give me reason for concern.......I shoot a model 29 8 3/8

That is a very mild .44 Special level load, and no, the difference in OAL is no problem. That powder charge is suitable for a wide variety of 240 grain lead bullets.
