That is a "yoke stop". Keeps the cylinder from flopping around. Did you find 'em?When did it start, what guns was it done on, and when was it discontinued, and what did the factory call this feature and name the parts?

They were on all frame sizes.
N- Triple Locks thru the 357 Mags. Later 1917's did not have them.
K- Early till the late 20's, maybe early 30's
I- Early till ?? I don't know for sure, but I have seen them into 1903 variants.
Gotta go- I need to stick some rebound slides together and try to pull them apart.
