I have an M22-4 and wanted to buy an alternate set of grips for it. The S&W website shows various models, but I can't determine if any of them have an open bottom and would clear the lanyard ring.

I believe the 22-4 is N square. If anyone has anything to add or any experience retrofitting this type butt configuration with grips, would be much appreciated.

Your modern M22 will accept the magna styles and any other grip that leaves the frame open at the bottom. Full target and pachmayer type grips will not fit, as the bottom grip frame is enclosed.

My 21-4 and 25-13 both wear Hogue wood grips. These were the first and only Hogues I've had and I find that I like them. Pretty comfortable for both calibers. The wood monogrips might work for you too.
