Hey Guys. Been looking on here for a while now and finally think I found a decent deal on a model 29. Like the title says, it's a 29-2, with the 6 1/2 barrel, a set of wood target grips that apparently aren't original to the gun, and a set of pachmayr grips. I haven't seen the gun yet but according to him it's in "really good condition for it's age" I also don't know if it comes with the box or anything else.

My question is what's a good deal on this gun? I'd be buying it along with another gun the guy's selling and will end up paying between $500 and $550

of course me getting it depends on the actual condition, but assuming it's all in good shape, is that a good deal?

I paid $675 for this shooter about a year and half ago...and shoot it DOES.

Shipped July 1969

Prices for 29-2's are all over the map.
Condition and originality are everything; box, docs and tools count as well.
Perfect, collector-grade examples can exceed $1,000 on the auction sites.
There is really no way of guessing the value of the one you're considering without at least seeing good photos. Terms like 'really good condition' is far too vague to accurately gauge value.

not the best pic in the world, but it's all he had and it's from his phone. He also said he does not have the box or papers....it's just the gun with two sets of grips

the grips look good! i can't tell from the pic if the blue on the frame is discolored, or maybe just has oil on it. if it is badly discolored, that is probably too much for it. if the bluing looks nice, that is probably a fair deal. i'd just have to look it over in person, and decide for myself!

I'd say that if the action is tight and there are no major finish problems then at the price he's asking that would be a deal to me.
