Question about Performance Center Shield Plus pistols

Greetings!

I will be very upfront, I am not well versed on the S&W M&P line of pistols. However, I am very happy with my 4" Performance Center model.

When looking at a Shield Plus that has come through the Performance Center, does the Performance Center work it's magic more on the frame and trigger unit, the slide unit, or both components equally?

I am toying with picking up a 3.1" slide for occasional use on my 4" PC frame. I realize that it may be more economical to purchase a complete pistol, but I'm looking to avoid going for another purchase permit.

In my experience, the PC improvements are mainly in the frame/trigger components. You may get better sights with the PC guns, but those can be added if needed.

Contrary to what that article says, not all the PC Shield Plus have the longer 4" slides and barrels. There are PC versions with the standard 3.1 barrel lengths.

Yes, but the OP said he has the 4" version and the article was meant to point out the PC differences.

Understood, but he was asking about putting a 3.1 slide on his PC frame, that's why I pointed out there were PC 3.1's, not just 4" versions.

I owned a PC Shield 9mm for several years, and it was one of my EDC handguns. However, when the newer PC Shield Plus 9mm was released I traded in the old for the new and have been extremely happy with it. The PC Shield Plus is easy to carry, comfortable to shoot, accurate, and dependable. I've never had a F2F, I like the fiber optic sights, and the trigger is great. I believe that the Performance Center works on improving all aspects of the M&Ps (frame, slide, trigger, barrel, sights, porting, etc.), and they're extremely nice pistols.
