Hello fellow gun people! I have a question about a Springfield 9mm that I've been offered for a reasonable price. The problem is that I don't know anything about this gun, or Springfield guns in general.

Can any of you give me some insight/experience with the P9 9mm?

It's about half the price of any other decent non-polymer 9mm on the market at the moment, so I'm wondering if it's a good deal. I don't know much about the condition, but it looks well used from the pictures in the ad. Is anyone here able to tell me anything useful about this gun, in particular - what should I look for when I go to check it out?

The only thing I have a the moment is the attached picture, so I'm mostly asking if I should bother to go look at it at all

Same gun as the EAA, check out new ones on line.

I do note Springfield is currently on the do not buy list, for anti-2nd activities.

Who would not buy from Springfield or Rock River.

Thanks, I'll send in my applications, and wait 2-6 weeks (yay Norway :( ) to be allowed to buy a 9mm. If it's still there then I might give a lowball offer, but most likely go for a CZ or Tanfoglio.

Basically the same pistol as the Tanfoglio TZ-75 Series 88 and very early version of the EAA Witness, but finished and assembled by Springfield Armory. I have a TZ-75 Series 88, good pistol, quite accurate, but spare parts are getting to be hard to find as these pistols have been out of production for a while.

All of these gun companies are known for quality. Your gun appears to be in very nice condition and I think you'll be happy with it.

I'd get a CZ-75b. Partly for parts availability, and it's easier to sell if you want to. The CZ also has more prestige, as a brand.

I wasn't aware that Springfield Armory was involved in anti-gun issues. Details?
