Today at an estate sale a friend and I bought a sealed case of this powder .
Four 4 lb jugs . All factory sealed and we paid a whole 40 bucks for the case . 10 bucks a jug .
Now my question is what calibers is it good for ?
Thanks in advance.

I use it in my Shield 40 and Glock 23 (also 40 cal) and it performs well. I've read however not many have luck with it in 45 acp but instead use N310. I'm sure many others will chime in and answer your query further.

It's "good" for 9mm. Not my favorite, but it's good. You would be very hard pressed to ever buy 1 lb for <$30. Might get a 4 lber for $90-100. It goes missing now and then.

Certain of it's stablemates have a cult following.

Google Vihtavuori, there's a manual.

It "works" in the .45ACP; it's just that it's medium-quick. The Fastest of the series is N310, which is famous because it is used by bullseye shooters win championships....think faster than Alliant Bullseye.

Wow, nice score. It is about perfect for any std vel 45acp loads. Also runs great in 9 & 40 minor loads? I like it, but at the current prices, I shoot wst instead for those apps.

It burns nice and clean!!!
Pour some next to Bullseye and Unique and light each one..... burn some other powders as well.
Greater than great for 380ACP.

Paid $40 per pound once and thanked the LGS for stocking that powder!
I had time to experiment and two pounds were available. :D
Colt ARs were 3k at that time and people bought them like bottled water before Wilma.

I've burned up about 4 of those 4lb jugs in the last few years using it for my 9mm loads. Works great under heavy (135 or 147gr) bullets.

I use N320 for 30 years now for no so light target loads in .38 Special and .45 ACP. Good for medium loads in .357 Magnum. Useful in .44 Special, when you don't want to go to the upper end of that caliber. I didn't like it in 9mm Luger (found N340 was shooting smoother).

Great score!
Anything that you would use BULLSEYE in, you can use N320. The two are very close. Very useful, very versatile powder. N320 will produce some very accurate loads as well.

It is a fast powder that is awesome for light power to medium power. I like it's big brother N340 better for the hotter stuff. I wouldn't try to push N320 too hard.

N320 is recommended by the best
Cowboy Action Shooter “Evil Roy” vouches for the purity of Vihtavuori N320:

As an extremely clean burning and accurate powder, N320 is also a big favorite of Gene Pearcey aka “Evil Roy”, the famous Cowboy Action Shooter using

Vihtavuori Powders. Speaking to Vihtavuori at the SHOT Show in Las Vegas in 2017, Evil Roy concluded:

“I’ve been using the N320 powder for quite a long time now, and it’s definitely my favourite powder. I use it for .45 ACP, .45 Colt, 9 mm and .38 Special, so I use it for a lot of things. And it just occurred to me some time ago, that I have been using that powder for years, and I haven’t cleaned my powder measure one time – not one single time.”
