Anybody catch the news tonight concerning the Governor's response to the Virginia Tech memorial?

Something about him signing a new bill that will permanently disqualify anybody that has sought psychological counseling from owning a firearm, voluntary or involuntary. Currently it's just involuntary committal.

If I heard it wrong, I apologize for starting a foolish thread, but I caught the tail end of the news and it sounded like that.

I left VA about a month ago. However, I didn't see anything about this checking the VA Gun Owners Forum or VCDL page. It would be fairly blatantly unconstitutional to do something like that, and also ironic, since LEOs involved in shootings routinely have mandatory counseling. Even the mental health community would likely be up in arms about it (pardon the pun) since it would discourage people from getting help, violate a host of confidentiality provisions, etc.

Which is fortunate, since stockpiling ammunition and weapons really helped with my paranoid hoarding instincts and even quieted the voices. For a while.

And it would probably prohibit any soldier or former soldier who served in a combat zone overseas defending his country from carrying a gun to defend his family at home.
Utterly stupid.
