Just finally received my M&P 22 Compact. Threw some A-Zoom dummys in it to cycle. It will not eject at all. Called S&W and she recommended doing initial cleaning per manual, then take to range and fire. She said not unusual it wouldn't eject right out of box. Any input appreciated

A couple of questions to help us help you:

Are you loading the snap-caps into a magazine and then chambering with the slide?

Is the extractor moving freely?

Will the extractor hold a snap-cap on the breech face with the slide removed from the gun?

A-zoom are made of "resilient polymer". Fancy Plastic.
A batch with out of spec rims could be the culprit.

Clean it and try a couple different brands of brass ammo.

Figured it out. The extractor is completely missing. So. Shipping back to S&W

WHAT??? Well that's a kick in the nads! I'd be PO'ed receiving a NIB pistol like that. You didn't have an opportunity to inspect it before purchase?

I ordered online at grab a gun and was shipped directly to local ffl. Nics took 3 weeks. Honestly I'm fairly new and wouldn't even know. I had to watch a disassemble video to catch it

Don't feel too badly

Don't beat yourself up for not noticing an extractor missing on a blowback firearm. You could have fired it thousands of times and not noticed until you tried to manually extract an unfired cartridge. I knew a an extremely gun savvy guy with several firearms patents to his credit. He ran a Ruger MK I .22 auto for a long time before discovering his had no extractor.

The A Zooms are aluminum.

Directly from Lyman website:
Dry fire .22 LR Rimfire safely without chamber damage.

Packed in handy 24 packs, these Pachmayr snap caps are precisely molded from a resilient polymer for many safe, damage-free hammer drops. After extensive experimentation and testing, these tough, polymer snap caps are proven to deliver long life and many hammer drops. In fact, testing has shown that these snap caps can withstand up to 5-times as many hammer drops as the other "disposable" rimfire snap caps.

You live and learn. I feel bad that happened to you. That's usually my kind of luck! lol I'm sure S&W with make it right, but it still sucks because that's a great little 22 pistol. Good luck with it in the future.

Those are Lyman. The original post distinctly said that he was using A-Zoom, which are made of aluminum.

Actually, A-Zooms are aluminum. The polymer snaps are different. Both are Lyman products sporting the Pachmayr name, but the orange plastic ones are not A-Zooms.

Thanks. I'm sure they'll take care of it, I was anxious to go shooting with my daughter as she just picked up her 1st firearm. Ruger SR22, guess I'll just have to take my MK-25 to go with her.

Thank you all for input. Much appreciated. Guess I just hit the range with my Sig. Bought the . 22 for less expensive range days but it is what it is. No big deal I'll wait. I am excited to shoot it. I've done lots of research on this 22 and majority agrees it's a fun little handgun.
