I picked up a post war 38 M&P yesterday that had the Pachmayr Gun Wks. grip filler installed. My question is what is the significance of the 2L marking in the crook of the device? I'm guessing it has to do with frame size but that is just a guess, More on this interesting gun later.

Got that chart from an eBay advertisement. Have not found much information about grip adapter application. When I saw this chart took a screenshot and put in my Revolver file.

Now I'm more confuse Sargent. My adapter was on a round butt K frame. Here are a couple pictures of the piece.
Tom, I'm not much help here...I looked through my as-yet-unmounted grip adapters and found boxed 5L and 6L Pachmayrs, but not a 2L...I may have one already on a gun, but since all my guns are bagged, tagged and stacked in the safe, I won't know what's already on a gun until the next display opportunity...I think the Mershon, Pachmayr & Tyler adapters used similar sizing designations but not necessarily the exact same...I have also found that those marked with a size don't always fit the gun they are listed for...None of that helps your search for your own, but may add to the general knowledge... ...Ben

Got it. Thanks. S, M, L=Hand size. Mine is a #2 for large hands.
